Girls Competitive Team

Age: 7 years +
Duration: 1 Hour

Motions Unlimited is proud to offer the most established and successful Competitive Girls Team Program in the Cayman Islands. As the island’s premier gymnastics facility, we are home to a very active traveling team that competes consistently both in the United States and internationally.
Most of our team athletes begin in our recreational program, where consistency and dedication to training allow them to progress through our levels. However, it’s important for parents to understand that not all athletes are invited to join the team. Team selection is based on a specific set of criteria, including skill development, strength, flexibility, focus, and coachability.
Our athletes compete under USA Gymnastics rules and guidelines, from Level 2 through Level 10, as well as in the Xcel Program. In partnership with our federation, the Cayman Islands Gymnastics Association (CIGA), our gymnasts have represented Cayman on some of the world’s biggest stages—including FIG-sanctioned competitions such as the Commonwealth Games, Pan American Championships, World Championships, and even the Tokyo Olympic Games.
Team members are selected by invitation through our recreational and class programs, and are placed and trained based on their ability and commitment. We take great pride in our athletes’ development, focusing on strong technique, discipline, and a supportive team culture.
At Motions Unlimited, we strive to create a positive, encouraging, and goal-driven environment where every athlete is challenged to be their best. We are committed to helping each gymnast work hard, grow with confidence, and reach for their dreams—whether that’s competing locally, internationally, or simply becoming the best version of themselves through the sport of gymnastics.

**Please Note**

For the safety and focus of our athletes, team parents may only observe practice during the last week of each month. High-level training requires gymnasts to maintain full concentration on their coaches without distraction. Frequent parent observation can unintentionally create pressure, increase nerves, and take away from the focused environment athletes need to develop advanced skills safely. Limiting observation helps ensure that gymnasts train with confidence, focus, and independence — while still giving parents the opportunity to see their progress each month.

It is also important for families to understand that being part of the Competitive Team requires a significant commitment. Training hours increase considerably compared to recreational classes, and gymnasts are expected to attend practices consistently in order to progress. In addition to the time commitment, there are financial obligations associated with competitive gymnastics, including competition entry fees, travel expenses, team leotards, warm-ups, and other gear.
Joining the team is a rewarding experience, but it is also a serious commitment for both the gymnast and their family. We encourage parents to carefully consider these responsibilities before accepting a place on the team.
